Sometimes a permanent hire isn’t the right move — yet. Whether you’re covering a leave, staffing a project, or want to see how someone performs before committing permanently, Nectera places qualified professionals on contract under our payroll. You get the expertise you need. We handle everything else.
You’re covering a leave.
Maternity, parental, or extended medical — you need someone experienced and capable, not a rushed permanent hire you’ll have to manage around when your employee returns.
You have a project with a defined scope.
Six months, a year, a specific deliverable — you need the expertise for the duration without adding permanently to your headcount.
You want to try before you commit.
See how someone performs in your environment, on your projects, with your team — before making a permanent decision. Many of our contract placements convert to permanent, on purpose.
You want the person without the employer burden.
Benefits, WCB, CPP, EI, vacation pay, ROEs, T4s — all handled by Nectera. You pay a transparent hourly rate and focus on the work.
Roles:
→ Project Coordinators and Project Managers
→ Estimators
→ Technologists
→ Mechanical Designers and Drafters

Minimum contract length: 3 months. All workers employed under Nectera payroll.

We begin with a meeting—virtual or in-person if you’re in Calgary—to understand your hiring needs, discuss your ideal candidate's profile, the role, the timeline, the environment, what good looks like.

We source, vet, and shortlist candidates to match your requirements. You only need to interview the best candidates. If you find someone who’s a perfect fit we will hire them for your project.

Once selected, the worker joins your project under our payroll. We provide a system to track hours, which are reviewed and approved by your supervisor on a weekly basis to ensure accurate and timely payment for employees. Mutual collaboration during this step is essential to maintain seamless operations and transparency.

We process payroll, manage government remittances (CPP, EI), vacation, WCB,
ROEs, and T4s.

For the services provided, we issue an invoice based on the hours worked, our agreed markup fee plus GST. No surprises, no hidden fees.

At the end of the contract, you can choose to renew, release, or directly hire the worker based on agreement terms.
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We focus on professional, skilled roles in construction, including project coordinators, safety or quality coordinators, project managers, estimators, and administrative positions.
Contracts start at a minimum of 3 months, with a preference for 6 months or longer.
Yes! We manage government remittances (CPP, EI, income tax), vacation pay, holiday pay and WCB for all workers under our payroll.
Absolutely. This can be arranged in the initial agreement, allowing a seamless transition if you wish to bring the worker onto your team permanently.
Workers log their hours in our system, which your supervisors approve. We then process payroll accurately and on time.
If a worker isn’t a good fit, we’ll promptly work with you to find a suitable replacement. The replacement will continue under the terms of the original signed contract, ensuring minimal disruption to your project and maintaining continuity.
